The Beauty of Sports and GTO (Ready for Labor and Defense) Sports Testing at the All-Russian Festival of Combat Sports

On April 16-19, 2015 the Exhibition Complex will be hosting the All-Russian Festival of Combat Sports.

This anniversary festival is remarkable for its scale – the amount of facilities has been increased compared to the 2014 event, – and a number of new features, the main of which being an opportunity to take part in the GTO (Ready for Labor and Defense Testing) Testing right at the Exhibition Complex.  

Head of the Regional Physical Training and Sports Department Vyacheslav Bratsev, who took part at the press conference held on April 14, said that anyone would be able to check their physical abilities and try to pass the GTO testing procedure.

Visitors of the festival will be encouraged to take the exercise set of the GTO complex by the prize of the festival partner – a week-long trip to Cyprus for two, which will be awarded to one of the participants on April 18-19.

Other participants who will have passed the GTO testing, will be given a certificate entitling them to the bronze, silver, or gold badge.

It must be noted that the Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex has been supporting the festival for several years and keeps providing all necessary help to conduct it on the highest possible level.

“The All-Russian Festival of Combat Sports certainly is one of key sports events of the Siberian Region, which is confirmed by its decade-long history and the fact that it received the All-Russian Status. I am sure that such events can indeed promote sports in Russia and make sports activities popular among young people”, emphasized the Commercial Director of the Exhibition Complex Aleksandr Obolensky at the recently held press conference. 

As many as 3,000 participants expected at the modern exhibition centre will perform in front of a few thousand spectators and demonstrate their masterful skills in aikido, hand-to-hand fighting, jiu-jitsu, karate, wushu, kobudo, sambo, Vovinam Viet Vo Dao, taekwondo, grappling, and cross-fit.

It is rather remarkable that the All-Russian Festival of Combat Sports is among five largest events held by the Russian Union of Martial Arts, which unites about 5 million people from all over Russia.
