Low-rise Building Construction Exhibition “Siberian House” Opening was held at the Novosibirsk Expo Centre

According to the Regional Minister of Construction and Housing Services Denis Vershinin about 1550 thousand square meters of housing area were built in the region last year. The share of low-rise houses accounted for approximately 34% (527 thousand square meters) of the total amount of buildings. Just for comparison – in 2011 low-rise buildings only accounted for 23 – 25% of the total amount of residential houses built. It is planned to raise the share of low-rise construction in the region up to 40% in 2013. Minister Vershinin believes that the ‘crunch point has been passed’, and low-rise construction sphere will continue developing more rapidly as the amount of economy-class offers in this segment grows.

The exhibition “Siberian House – 2013” will feature 270 companies that will present modern materials, technologies and ideas for low-rise construction in six different categories: “Cottage buildings. Low-rise construction”, “Construction of wooden houses”, “Landscape architecture”, “Stoves and fireplaces”, “Swimming pools and saunas”, “Intellectual cottage buildings”.  

Presidential Envoy of the President in the Siberian Federal District Victor Tolokonsky, Regional Minister of Construction and Housing Services Denis Vershinin, President of the Regional Legislative Assembly Ivan Moroz gave a welcoming speech at the Forum. 

Professionals of this segment and low-rise construction experts – President of Low-Rise and Individual Construction Association (AMID) Inna Svechnikova, General Director of Wooden Construction Association Aleksandr Chernykh, Director of Marketing Department at “KNAUF CIS” Group Jörg Lange, honorary architect of Russia Valeriy Arbatsky, member of the Managing Board at the Novosibirsk Union of Architects Igor Popovsky, President of the European Union Housing, Urban Development and Reconstruction Department Expert Chamber Marco Ferrario as well as other specialists - will also speak at the Forum.
