Large Agricultural Exhibitions Are Held at the Novosibirsk Expocentre

The opening ceremony of these exhibitions featured Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Vasily Yurchenko, Chair of the Legislative Assembly Ivan Moroz, Mayor of Novosibirsk Vladimir Gorodetsky, General Inspector for the Novosibirsk Region Iosif Rokhlin, Trade Advisor at the Embassy of France, Head of the Trade Mission UBIFRANCE Russia-Ukraine-Kazakhstan Elisabeth Puissant, Economy Attaché at the General Consulate of Germany Swenja Evert.

Governor Vasily Yurchenko noted in his welcoming speech that this year’s conditions for developing agriculture of the Novosibirsk Region had been unfavorable again – last year’s drought was followed by rainy weather, therefore agricultural businesses can only operate using modern technology and equipment.            

“This exhibition serves to present the best competences and the world’s best practices to agricultural companies that operate here, in the Siberian Federal District,” the Governor said.  

AgroSib 2013 features 83 companies. The exhibition includes all major directions for the development of agriculture: special vehicles and equipment for animal and bird breeding, plant breeding, agricultural product processing, storage, and packaging equipment.  

Over 80 companies from Russia, Germany, Italy, USA, Canada, Holland participate in AgroExpo Siberia. The exhibition features the Official Pavilion of Germany organized with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Food, Agriculture, and Consumer Protection.    

EURASEC AGRO Congress started its work on the first day of AgroSib 2013 Exhibition. Igor Abakumov, General Director of the “Krestyanskiye Vedomosti” Media Group and agricultural expert, had been appointed moderator of the plenary session. 

A discussion called “Value Chain Cooperation: Problems and Prospects” was held as part of the AgroSib Exhibition on October 30. This event organized by the Interregional Association “Siberian Agreement” included representatives of the Association Executive Committee, managing organizations of the agro-industrial complex, agricultural companies, farms, agricultural cooperatives, unions and associations, bank holdings, research and education organizations, the media.
