On April 2–5, 2015 the Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex will be hosting semi-finals of the National “WorldSkills” Championship of Russia for the Siberian Federal District.

The Championship will include contests in the following competences:

  • electric installation work;

  • repair and maintenance of cars;
  • agricultural machines;
  • web design
  • network and system administration;

In 2015 the amount of competences included in the list of professional skill contests rose from 10 to 16!

Only one person was allowed to present a certain region at every contest competence. The Novosibirsk Region will be represented by the largest delegation of participants comprised of 16 people.

It is important to emphasize that all the contests conducted as part of the championship will be held according to the practices introduced by WorldSkills International – an international non-profit organization (WSI).

WSI was established in 1946; its main goal is motivating young people to compete with each other and kindling their enthusiasm in occupational training as well as comparing the skills and abilities of people from different countries.

It must be noted that Russia joined WSI on May 17, 2012. The Championship is currently actively supported by the Government and the President of the Russian Federation.

In early 2015 Russia submitted an official application to conduct the world finals of WorldSkills Competition in 2019.

According to the information provided by the event organizers, alongside the contests in 16 competences, the list of activities will also include a plenary session with the participation of the Novosibirsk Region Governor Vladimir Gorodetsky and the President of WorldSkills Russia Union Pavel Chernykh.

Admittance to the event is free of charge.
