The Novosibirsk Expocentre launched the 2nd Exhibition of Hobbies and Crafts ‘HobbyTime-Siberia’ – the only event of such a format in the Siberian Federal District.

The exhibition includes such sections as handicrafts, model-making, and historical reconstruction. The exhibition features companies and craftspeople from Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk Region, Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Omsk, and Uzbekistan.

Historical and Technical Bench Model-Making Club ‘1:72’ and ‘Eastern Front’ studio present an exposition of scale models: over 200 models of military vehicles, civil cars, statues, and dioramas (scale copies of landscapes and buildings).

And on March 15-16 the New Siberian Convent of Bench Model Makers NovoSlet 2014 Siberian Model Show will be held for the first time as part of the ‘HobbyTime-Siberia’ Exhibition. The event will receive over 100 model makers from all over Siberia, as well as participants from Moscow and Kazakhstan. NovoSlet 2014 will allow selecting the best scale models and miniatures.

During the exhibition days crafts lovers can visit a variety of workshops for all tastes: soap making and preparing natural body care balms, making wedding bonbonnieres and holiday decorations,  patchwork, felt handicrafts, knitting, macramé, making bijouterie from beads, origami, making scrapbooks, aerography, and many more.

Together with ‘Logos’ Handicrafts Club the patchwork contest ‘On the Road of Fairytales’ will be conducted with the participation of artisans and handicrafts teams. The patchwork picture ‘On the Road of Fairytales’ will be hanging on the wall at one of the orphanages, and the children would guess which fairytales are depicted on quilts made by Siberian craftswomen.

On March 15 and 16 Historical Reconstruction Club ‘Ber’ invites visitors of the exhibition to dive deep into the world of medieval times at the Open Historic Fencing Tournament ‘Challenge 2014’. The tournament will feature participants from Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Barnaul.
