Drift Show of Siberian Racers to Take Place in Novosibirsk

On May 31 the outdoor territory of the Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex will be hosting the Cup of the Novosibirsk Automobile Federation Drift Contests.

About 30 racers from Novosibirsk, Barnaul, Tomsk, Novokuznetsk, and Kemerovo will take part in the contests. This event will be held as part of the exhibition of spare parts, car chemicals, car accessories, equipment, and car maintenance ‘AutoSib- 2014’. All the visitors will be able to see Siberian drifters performing exciting stunts with smoke coming from under the wheels of their sports cars. The drift show will be held at a specially equipped area near the parking lot of the Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex. Spectators will be granted free access to the contests! 

Event Schedule:

10.30 A.M. – 12.00 P.M. – Free practice
12.30 P.M.– 1.00 P.M. – Opening of the contest, parade of participants
1.00 P.M.– 2.30 P.M. – Qualification
2.30 P.M. – 3.00 P.M. – Summing up qualification results
3.00 P.M. – 4.40 P.M. – Finals
4.40 P.M. – 5.20 P.M.– Awarding the winners of the contests

The contests are conducted by the Novosibirsk Automobile Federation with the support from the Government of the Novosibirsk Region, the Novosibirsk Region Department of Sports and Physical Education, SRO R&D Non-Commercial Association ‘Transport Union of Siberia’, STSI Directorate at the Chief Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Novosibirsk Region.  

The Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex already hosted such sports events. For example, on May 10 the first stage of the annual ‘Capital of Siberia’ Cup Drift Championship of Siberia took place at the Expo Centre. Drifters from Novosibirsk, Barnaul, Tomsk, Novokuznetsk, and Kemerovo were struggling for the Winner Title all day through. Over 4,000 people came to support the racers and see the exciting show.

The territory of the Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex is yet to host several other drift contests in 2014.
