Drift Contest for the Cup of the Novosibirsk Automobile Federation Took Place at the Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex

The end of spring in Novosibirsk did not bring warm weather, yet we were able to enjoy hot drift! On May 31 the Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex hosted a drift contest. Over 30 racers from Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Barnaul, the Town of Ob arrived in the capital of Siberia to fight and become the best of the best. The tough struggle helped determine the winner of the contest – Maksim Rakin, a drifter from Novosibirsk,(start number 72, Nissan Silvia S15), Artur Volchansky (Novosibirsk, start number 69, Toyota Altezza)took second place, third place was taken by Maksim Yakubitsky (Novosibirsk, start number 40, Nissan Silvia).

Inessa Limareva, who said in her welcoming address to the participants and guests of the contest that she was planning to not only become the winner of Novosibirsk but also the champion of Russia, was a true beautiful marvel of the sports event. The young lady with the start number 96 was driving Toyota Chaser. And it was the first time a woman took part in the drift contest. According to the event organizers, nothing like that had occurred before. Even at all-Russia contests female racers are rarely seen.   

Over 3,000people attendedthe Cup of the Novosibirsk Automobile Federation. Let us recall that the second drift contest in this season took place on May 31. First stage of the annual drift championship of Siberia ‘The Capital of Russia Cup’ was held on May 10. Yevgeniy Spirin, a racer from Novosibirsk, became the winner of the first event.

The territory of the Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex is yet to host several other drift contests in 2014.
