Agro-Industrial Complex Achievement Exhibition was opened at the Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex as part of the Novosibirsk Region Harvest Days. Representatives of the regional agricultural sector have presented the best examples of their agricultural products at the exhibition.

All districts of the Novosibirsk Region took part in the exhibition. The exponents’ stands featured various goods including dairy, baked products, meat, and vegetables harvested in 2014.

The opening ceremony was featuring the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Vladimir Gorodetsky, the Chairman of the Regional Legislative Assembly Ivan Moroz, and the Mayor of Novosibirsk Anatoly Lokot.

Vladimir Gorodetsky congratulated farmers on the end of the harvesting campaign and thanked them for the results they had achieved in his welcoming speech at the opening ceremony.

‘The result of your work reflects the cost of your love for your profession and native land. This can be said about every rural dweller: combine operator, supervisor, farm machinery operator – all those who struggled for this year’s crops. I’m convinced that going through this year of difficulties caused by harsh weather conditions will give us the understanding of the hardships we have faced, as well as the understanding of ways to develop our agricultural industry in the future’, said the Governor. After examining the presented expositions Vladimir Gorodetsky noted that the exhibition had clearly demonstrated positive achievements in the development of agro-food complex happening today primarily in the sphere of high-quality processing of agricultural products. In addition to that, the Governor emphasized how important it is for the agro-industrial complex of the Novosibirsk Region to work in the context of substituting imported goods with domestic agricultural products.

‘We haven’t suffered significant losses in terms of assortment and volume of products in the conditions of import restriction. Challenges of today contribute to a greater consumption of products made by our manufacturers’, Vladimir Gorodetsky said. For your information
